We buy neglected homes, renovate them to ADA-accessible standards, and rent them to Section 8 and Medicaid clients across the Midwest. Most qualifying residents pay $0 in rent — their voucher covers it all.
Paid.House is a residential landlord with a social mission. We purchase distressed properties throughout the Midwest, restore them to high-quality standards, and make them available to Section 8 and Medicaid clients at fair market rents — which are fully covered by housing vouchers for most residents.
We identify and purchase neglected, vacant, or distressed properties in Midwest neighborhoods at below-market prices.
Full renovation to ADA and HUD Housing Quality Standards — wide doorways, roll-in showers, grab bars, zero-threshold entries, and ramp access where needed. Every property is HQS-inspected before move-in.
We accept Section 8 / HCV, Section 811, and other vouchers. Residents pay only their portion — typically $0 for most Medicaid clients. We collect the subsidy directly from HUD.
Stable long-term tenancy. We handle maintenance, compliance, and HQS re-inspections. You focus on living — not housing paperwork.
Paid.House owns and maintains all properties. You sign a standard residential lease as a tenant — just like any rental. No mortgage, no down payment, no ownership required.
We charge fair market rent set at HUD's payment standard for your area. Your Section 8 or HCV subsidy covers this directly. Most Medicaid clients owe $0 per month out of pocket.
HAP contracts, HQS inspections, rent reasonableness certifications — we handle every piece of landlord-side HUD paperwork. You just need your voucher and a move-in date.
Paid.House acquires distressed and neglected properties throughout the Midwest, fully renovates them to modern standards, then rents them to Medicaid clients at fair market rates — which Section 8 and Housing Choice Vouchers cover completely.
Most of our residents pay $0 in rent. Their Housing Choice Voucher or Section 8 subsidy pays us directly. They get a quality renovated home. We get a fair market rate. Everyone wins.
At Paid.House, we believe safe, dignified housing is a right — not a privilege. We own and operate Medicaid-approved homes throughout Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, making it possible for individuals with disabilities, seniors, and low-income families to live comfortably without financial burden.
Through state Section 8 & HCV Programs and HCBS (Home and Community Based Services) programs, qualifying residents pay little to nothing out of pocket. Our team handles the paperwork, coordinates with case managers, and ensures your transition into housing is seamless.

A Housing Voucher (formally called an Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) — Home and Community Based Services Waiver) allows states to waive certain Medicaid rules to provide services to individuals in community settings rather than institutions.
For housing, the waiver typically covers the cost of your rent directly with the landlord (us). Qualifying residents pay little to nothing out of pocket. The waiver may also cover supportive services like personal care, transportation, and therapy.
Most residents are placed within 30–45 days from initial contact. The largest variable is the state housing voucher approval process, which can range from 2–8 weeks depending on your state, waiver type, and completeness of documentation. Our team actively coordinates with state offices to expedite approvals.
Not necessarily, but it's strongly recommended. Many housing vouchers require the involvement of a Medicaid case manager or care coordinator. If you don't have one, we can help connect you with a qualified case manager in your area.
If you're a case manager looking for housing for a client, we have a dedicated partner portal — contact us for access.
We currently have Medicaid-approved properties in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. We are actively expanding and adding new properties every month. If your state isn't listed, contact us — we may have upcoming properties or referral partners in your area.
Paid.House properties are individual homes and apartments — not group facilities. Our residents live in real neighborhoods in regular single-family homes, duplexes, and apartment units. This supports true community integration as required by the Olmstead Act and CMS HCBS settings rules. We are not a group home operator.
Yes! Our sister company Paid.Care provides in-home personal care, attendant services, and skilled nursing. Paid.Care services can be provided in any of our Paid.House properties. Many residents use both services, which is billed separately through Medicaid. You are not required to use Paid.Care, and you may use any Medicaid-approved home care agency.

Contact Our TeamWe started with a simple belief: everyone deserves a safe, stable home — and cost should never be the barrier.
Paid.House was founded after our leadership team — deeply rooted in Medicaid services and affordable housing — saw firsthand how many individuals were stuck in costly institutions or unsafe living situations simply because there were no Medicaid-approved community housing options nearby.
We set out to solve this by acquiring, renovating, and maintaining a portfolio of homes throughout the Midwest specifically designed and approved to accept Housing Voucher funding. Today, we own and manage 150+ properties and have helped over 400 individuals find safe, permanent housing.
As a subsidiary of Paid.Investments, we have the financial backing and long-term commitment to expand our portfolio and continue developing innovative housing solutions for underserved communities.
Every person deserves to live in a real home in a real neighborhood — not an institution. We believe community integration is a right, not a privilege.
We work with families and care teams — not just the individual. Housing decisions affect everyone, and we make sure every voice is heard in the process.
No hidden fees. No surprise costs. We explain every step of the Medicaid process in plain language so you always know what's happening and why.
We actively advocate with state Medicaid offices to expedite approvals. Every day in unstable housing is one too many — urgency is built into our culture.
We don't flip houses. We invest in communities for the long haul — maintaining quality properties that residents are proud to call home for years.
Many of our properties are ADA accessible or can be modified. We are committed to serving individuals with all types of disabilities and support needs.
